Born and raised in Newtown, CT, Justin has his Bachelors in Social Work (BSW) from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW) and Masters in Social Work (MSW) from UCONN-School of Social Work.

Justin has extensive experience working with young adults in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from residential care to in-home treatment.  

With formal training as a coach, mentor, clinician, and clinical supervisor, he considers it a privilege to have the opportunity to form meaningful and supportive relationships with those he serves.

Alexa Brown, LMSW

Alexa brings a level of professionalism and commitment to excellence in her work with clients.

While earning her Master’s degree in Social Work from Fairfield University, Alexa also simultaneously captained Fairfield University's Women's golf team.  Alexa has taken these experiences and applied them to her work with clients.  Her stylistic approach emphasizes clinical sophistication mixed with a respect for the power of team work to help achieve goals.

 

Alexa is driven to deliver compassionate, collaborative, and empathetic care to those ready to embark on their journey towards betterment.

T.J. is passionate about supporting young adults to create and achieve meaningful, fulfilling goals. He earned his Bachelor's in Behavioral Neuroscience from Quinnipiac University and his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University.

 

T.J. is an expert at working with college aged individuals.  In addition to his work at Valiance, TJ works as both an academic coach and as a mental health counselor at Sacred Heart University's counseling center.  T.J.  blends his personal experiences of growing up playing a variety of sports including soccer, lacrosse, and semi-professional paintball, as well as his current experiences as a professional musician, into his clinical work.  His approach to counseling is relaxed, humorous, goal-oriented, conversational, empowering, and most importantly--effective.

 

T.J. believes that relationship-building is at the core of the work he does and is humbled at every opportunity he has to create meaningful connections with those he works with.

Evan embodies the ethos of Valiance.  Evan works full time as a high school guidance counselor and part time as both a group fitness instructor and as a advisor at Valiance.  In his roles as a coach and counselor, he knows how to individually motivate people to achieve success in school, in the gym, and in their lives.

 

He has extensive experience as an undergraduate admissions counselor at Sacred Heart University where he reviewed thousands of student essays, letters of recommendation, resumes, and supplemental submissions for admission.

 

His ability to connect with students and families, combined with his knowledge of the application process, gives him an edge that many look for while navigating the rigorous college search and application process.
